Representatives from RBC have volunteered their time and expertise to help students develop professional resumes since 2018 and this year was no exception.
On Thursday, February 11, 33 mostly pre-internship students were able to video chat one-on-one with one of five RBC volunteers.
Each student emailed their draft resume prior to their appointment and were able to have a 20-minute critique through each representative’s individual video chat room. Several of the students commented how useful the experience was, with one student describing it as a “resourceful opportunity.”
The RBC representatives seemed to enjoy themselves as well with Susan Nixon stating, “Great conversations and from all over the world.” To which Claude Thibault responded, “Yes, I had two conversations in Poland, two in the Netherlands and one in Germany!”
“The willingness of the RBC crew to be creative and adapt to our current circumstances, is so amazing,” remarked Joy Galloway-Jones, Instructor/Manager of Work Integrated Learning. “It actually gave us ideas for improving the experience, even when we are able to do it face-to-face again,” she added.
