Graduating from Dal? Here's what you can expect from the Student Health & Wellness Centre going forward.

Now that you’re graduating, you might be wondering what happens to your access to the Student Health and Wellness Centre. We’ve put together a list of our most frequently asked questions and you can read through the list below.

Can I still use the Student Health & Wellness Centre if I am graduating?

You are able to continue using the services at theÌýStudent Health &ÌýWellness Centre untilÌýAugust 31Ìýof your graduating year (or December 31 for those who graduate in the fall). This includes medical, counselling and social work services.ÌýServices are available to those who currently reside in Nova Scotia.

If you have been seeing a physician, the physician andÌýtheÌýStudent Health & Wellness CentreÌýteam can assist you in transferring your file to an outside family physician.Ìý

I am graduating, but I am registered to return as a graduate student. Can I still use services at the Student Health & Wellness Centre?

Yes. Graduate students have access to the Student Health & Wellness Centre.Ìý

How do I find an off-campus family physician in Nova Scotia after I graduate?

If you require a physician in Nova Scotia after you graduate, you must register through Nova Scotia Health'sÌý.

How can I access mental health services in Nova Scotia after I graduate?

Mental health and addictions support in our community is available through theÌýÌýand/or throughÌý,Ìýoften covered through insurance plans.Ìý

Where can I get insurance after my current student policy expires?

The offers supplemental health and dental plans that can help you fill gaps and provide you with the protection that you need. StudentVIP has plans available for those currently on the Health & Dental plan.

The plan is for recent graduated who have completed their studies and are going to remain in Canada for up to one year.
