Study Summary:

This qualitative study is looking toĀ understandĀ the perceived impact of COVID-19 onĀ Nova Scotian primary care providersĀ (PCPs, Ā e.g.Ā nurse practitioners, physicians, social workers, pharmacists, family practice nurses, allied health professionals) and theirĀ capacity to manage and respondĀ to this global pandemic.Ā Specifically, we would like to understand theĀ perceivedĀ impact of COVID-19 on the Nova Scotian health system andĀ PCPĀ capacity to manage and respond; how PCPs access, share, and Ā disseminate COVID-related information; and how COVID-19 is directly impacting Nova ScotiaĀ PCPs.Ā Learnings from this studyĀ have the opportunity toĀ informĀ PCPs andĀ local and provincial government agenciesĀ of what is happening to Primary Health Care within the field of primary careĀ during a pandemic. This information will also contribute to future workĀ regardingĀ health system and servicesā€™Ā planning,Ā preparedness,Ā and education about theĀ virus.Ā

Funding Source:

This project is funded by Research Nova Scotia as part of a larger research profile looking at the impact of COVID-19 for the amount of $77, 080.00 over two years.
